Hello! To all those interested in applying for a place at the 6th Sherwood Contemporary Craft Market at The Place.

This year the fair will take place on the 12th November and as last year we will be offering extra space outside for more makers.Rachel and Sophie will be coordinating the market as usual and our contact details are below.

The prices are £24 for an inside space and £18 outside in the front courtyard (those outside will need to provide their own tables.) This is an increase from last year which is due mainly to changes in the trading licence prices also general costs.

For all of you applying for the first time, it is really important that you send us images of a selection of your work, or details of your website.

All application forms (found to the right) need to be sent to Sophie or Rachel by:

Rachel Ainley Textiles @ The Beetroot Tree

Textile artist Rachel Ainley has a selection of her larger textiles on show as part of 'Rooms' exhibition at the Beetroot Tree Gallery, Draycott, Derbyshire.

The exhibition opens this Saturday 17th September and runs until 30th October 2011.

There is no preview as such but the gallery are running an event called 'Tea Party' which will be their equivalent to a preview evening. Rachel will be at that event alongside the other artists exhibiting.

If you haven't already been to the Beetroot Tree gallery it's really worth a visit. Not only does it have a gallery but it also has a lovely wholesome cafe, art shop, craft shop, workshop space, an outdoor courtyard and garden with chickens!

Sherwood Mosaic Tree Notice Board

Rachel Ainley and Sophie Robins have finished the much awaited mosaic tree notice board for Sherwood and it will be unveiled by the Sheriff of Nottingham at 10am on Saturday 9th April at the Sherwood outdoor market. It will be installed this week as part of the pavement revamp down Mansfield Road in Sherwood.

The Secret Garden Craft Fair 2011

For 2011 Sherwood Art Week will be presenting "The Secret Garden Craft Fair" on Saturday June 25th 11am - 6pm at The United reformed Church, Edwards Lane, Sherwood.
This will also incorporate an artists quarter as SAW develops into a biennial event with the focus on SAW 2012.
In the meantime, this years Craft Fair will still be a cracking one day celebration with talented local makers/artists, a BBQ, Pimms & Real Ales plus great entertainment throughout the day.
